Knowledge is power to act
The FAO estimates that a high level of water scarcity currently affects 3.2 billion people, and one-sixth of the world’s population lives in agricultural areas severely affected by water constraints.
In addition, 170 million hectares, or more than 60% of irrigated cropland, are under high water stress. Food security and water security are inseparable in the fight against world hunger.
Water resources are becoming increasingly scarce and with the increase in the number of human beings, only water management and sustainable agriculture will make it possible to feed the planet.
